Christopher L. Newman

Christopher L. Newman is a 2nd year History PhD student at Howard University focusing on 19th century Creole Voodoo in New Orleans and the relationship between religion and slave resistance. Christopher has a BA from The Ohio State University in African American and African Studies and a Masters from Duke University in Theological Studies. Christopher plans to become a professor of slave religion and 19th century African American history upon graduating from Howard University.
