Montreal D. Ravenel

Montreal Ravenel is a Doctorate Candidate with Liberty University. Her dissertation work is focused on mutual submission in marriage. A lot of work has been done on submission in marriage and how it has been used as a form of abuse and control in romantic relationships. Her work allows her to gather the lived experiences of black women’s perspective on mutual submission. Montreal's hope is to support counselors and pastoral leaders in counseling black women and couples with this research. Future research will contribute to the establishment of tools and resources to assist counselors and pastoral leaders in addressing mutuality more fluidly and as a healthy application in marriage.
