Tamu Tuboku-Metzger is a second-year PhD student in the Social Work Policy, Planning, & Administration & Social Science program in the Whitney M. Young Jr. School of Social Work at Clark Atlanta University. She earned a Master of Arts in Education from Central Michigan University. She also earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from Emory University. Her research interests include foster youth education and aging out of the foster care system & investigating the resilience factors that enable them to successfully complete college. She has collaborated with Jamaica National Children Home to develop a mentorship program. Tamu’s heart is positioned to serve the vulnerable and underserved, ensuring that children are given the opportunity to live out their full potential.
