Patricia Lane, Ed.D. has been in education for 19 years. She obtained a bachelor’s degree in English with a minor in education from Howard University. She then attended the University of Pennsylvania, and she obtained a master’s degree in education with an English concentration. She also possesses an administrative credential. She has served as a junior high English teacher, a support staff member, and a school administrator in elementary and secondary school settings. Dr. Lane is currently a lecturer as well as a recent graduate of California State University, Bakersfield. Her research interests include Black student excellence, Black educator perseverance, culturally responsive pedagogy, and the effectiveness of teacher residency programs.
