Ramone Smith

Ramone Smith holds a (ABD) PhD in Information Studies from Long Island University. He began his PhD studies in 2014.

The 2010's saw the advent of Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCS) and Technical Bootcamps. Bootcamps like Per Scholas emerged to provide training for minorities in the areas of Cyber Security and Software Engineering. MOOCS like Coursera began to democratize education on a global scale.

Mr. Smith used Coursera’s platform to supplement his PhD courses. He also works at Per Scholas as a Career Coach. Later, he was hired by Indeed.com as a Client Success Specialist. He saw how technology was changing the workforce. Moreover, technology was also creating career opportunities for minorities.
