The conference presentation will be built from data from prior participants from two studies and literature that have attended one or both institution types, predominantly White academic institutions (PWI) and historically Black colleges or universities (HBCU). Investigating the participants' experiences will allow an opportunity to hear what has benefited the individuals while presenting opportunities to improve the learner experience. The institution types will not be limited as it is expected some participants may not attend a “traditional” institution (e.g., brick and mortar) to achieve their academic and professional goals while attending a predominantly White academic institution (PWI) and/or historically Black college or university (HBCU).
