Despite similar autism prevalence across racial groups, Black children face significant barriers to accurate diagnosis compared to white peers. These include socioeconomic inequities, slow response to parental concerns, medical mistrust, limited psychoeducation, and racial bias. This research examines diagnostic criteria alongside cultural considerations for evaluating Black children.
